Southeastern Wyoming Juvenile Center (SWJC)
The SWJD is a privately run juvenile detention and residential treatment center for teens ages 13-18. We provide church services one Sunday per month, or as requested. Some of these kids have parents in prison, some come from broken or dysfunctional homes, and many have anger issues and lack basic social and economic skills, yet all need God’s love shown to them. With each visit we encourage them to visit our youth group once released in order to meet new friends and to stay on the right track

COMEA House

COMEA is a local homeless shelter that houses individuals and families who, by bad choices or unforeseen circumstances, find themselves in need of a place to stay. We minister to them by holding regular services there every Sunday and a communion service once a month. Bibles are made available and we show God’s love and encourage the people to come join our family at FBC.

Garden Square

Garden Square is a community for Alzheimer’s patients in Colorado. We offer them a worship service where they enjoy singing the old hymns and partaking of communion once per month. The residents may not remember many of the details of their lives, but it’s heartwarming to see they still know their Lord Jesus.

Crow Creek

FBC has adopted a section of Crow Creek from the City of Cheyenne’s Parks and Recreation Department to show our community support and to offer an opportunity for local churches to come together and work side by side under the mantle of Christ’s love and call to serve. As we were cleaning the creek our first year, the opportunity arose to join with a local Christian ministry for the homeless and share a meal and fellowship. Each year brings new opportunities for us to partner with other local churches, ministries and groups as we serve the community by maintaining Crow Creek for all to enjoy.

Mothers of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS)

Our newest ministry is our support of MOPS. MOPS exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. Mothers who normally wouldn’t go to church will often join a MOPS group, providing the chartering church the opportunity to meet the needs of the mom and her family. This group meets twice a month in our facility.

Ministry Fair

Each September we hold a Ministry Fair for our community, which is designed to give them the opportunity to come visit us and learn a bit about who we are. We set up information booths in the gym with flyers and people available to explain all our different ministries. Throughout the Fair there are door prizes, raffles, games, free food, cotton candy, and a jump house for the kids. It has been very successful and gives people a fun, non-threatening way to find out more about what First Baptist has to offer.
